Water Determination in Fuel applications

The presence of water in Biodiesel, 200 proof Ethanol, and Petro related products can occur for several reasons. The water is usually residual from processing and or some comes from condensation in storage tanks. The water content can be determined using Karl Fischer Titration.

Denver Instrument supports both Volumetric and Coulometric Karl Fischer systems. Our Model 375 is a Volumetric KF system used in applications for water determination > 1 ppm. Our Model 260 & 275 is a Coulometric KF for low-level water determination < 1 ppm. Most Fuel application methods recommend CKF because it is a low-level water determination.
